vRealize Operation Management Pack for VMware Cloud Director

The vRealize Operations Management Pack for VMware Cloud Director is an add on management pack specifically designed for VMware Cloud Director. It collects data from VMware Cloud Director and persists into vRealize Operations for monitoring purposes. This management pack monitors the health of supported VMware Cloud Director entities and sends early warning in terms of smart alerts for monitored Provider VMware Cloud Director resources. It also helps in capacity planning use cases. It can monitor and meter information related to CPU, Memory, Storage, NSX-V Backed Cloud Director, and NSX-T backed Cloud Director. It adds a range of OOTB Reports and dashboards to help the admins meet their use case.

In this blog we will look in to how to install and configure the vRealize Operation Manager Management Pack for VMware Cloud Director.

Install VMware Cloud Director Management Pack

Download the supported version of the PAK file is available in VMware Market Place

To install the management pack, navigate to vRealize OperationData SourcesIntegrations and click on the Repository tab.

Click on ADD to add any new management pack.

Browse the package and Click Upload to upload the management pack in vRealize Operations

Click Next to proceed with installation

Agree the EULA and click Next to install it

Click Finish to complete the Installation

Once complete you can see the new management pack available in vRealize Operations Console

Add VMware Cloud Director Account

To add your VMware Cloud Director Instance with vRealize Operations create the service accounts for this integration with Provider administrator rights.

Click ADD Account in the Management pack console.

Provide the details of instance or the organization you want to monitor and Validate Connection

Click ADD once the connection is successful.
